Anjali and Derryl
On Mother's day we attended the wedding of one of Preston's really good friends from school. The wedding was a traditional Hindu ceremony and the whole experience was amazing! When we pulled up Derryl was riding up on a horse! Then all of the wedding party danced around him in front of the Hilton. The ceremony was very neat to watch and was the first one I had ever seen. They were inside this gazebo (I know there is a proper name for this structure, I just don't know it :) They threw things into a fire, recited prayers and made circles around the fire. It was very symbolic and a very cool experience. After the ceremony we had authentic appetizers and later for the reception we also had authentic Indian food. The reception was really fun and we danced the night away!
Graduation
5 Years
Preston and I have been married for 5 years!! For our anniversary we had a quiet night at home. I made kabobs, rice, and salad. For dessert I picked up our favorite...white chocolate raspberry truffle cheesecake, YUM! Best 5 years of my life babe, I love you!!
Missionaries
We've had the missionaries over weekly for a while and one of the lessons was over the plan of salvation. It was so neat to see Corbin draw what he had learned from the missionaries from memory, he really did a great job. We're so proud of him!
Sprinkler time
It has been super hot and since it's so early in the year NONE of the pools are open yet, LAME! So the kids cool off in the sprinkler in the backyard and have a blast!
St. Louis!!
For Spring Break we decided to go to St. Louis with our good friends the
Henricksen's. It was so fun and there was so much to see and the best
part was it was free!! We went to the zoo and it was amazing, much
better than Indianapolis Zoo.
| This orangutan really wanted Preston's orange |
After the zoo we grabbed some Pappy's BBQ which was so delicious.
On our way out of the city we stopped by the arch to take some pictures. Unfortunately we were a little late and we missed all of the tickets for the ride through the arch, but I guess we get to go back someday to to experience that!
