California-week 1

We are so lucky to be able to visit with family every year in California. Our first week was packed with fun! We went to the beach where we swam, surfed, snacked, and searched for sand crabs! Then we celebrated July birthdays, with Ava's on the 4th, mine on the 9th, and Corbin's on the 12th. We also saw Harry Potter, which was awesome and I highly recommend!

7 years old, and I'm the one who feels old

Corbin's birthday party was pretty low-key this year, as we were leaving for California the next day. Kiera was thoughtful enough to make it a little more exciting though by swallowing a penny, so that we could go on an ambulance ride to Riley Hospital to get it out. Luckily the doctors were able to get it out, but it was midnight by the time we got home. We did get to keep the penny as a souvenir, most expensive penny ever. Preston stayed with Corbin as host for his party because he is wonderful. And thank you to my friends for your help with everything, taking pictures, and making Buddy feel special for his birthday.

Baby You're a Firework

For the fourth of July this year we spent some time at the ward barbeque, where it rained buckets, and finished the night off at our good friends the Henricksons. Their neighbors bought soooo many fireworks, it was incredible.

Girl's weekend!!

Over my birthday weekend we went up to Carmel for some girl time, what a blast! I have the best friends ever, we had so much fun, shopping, getting pedicures, eating, and laughing. We followed up the weekend by having some of the husbands join us for sushi.

My birthday goodies included: this cute bag from Lacey, the yummy smelling bath stuff from Jamie, and the apron from Anthropologie from Brittany, Brittany, and Camille. Love these girls.

Drive in movie

These kids are so imaginative. They turned the box we got our lawnmower out of into a pretend car so they could watch a movie at the "drive in." So stinkin cute.

Splish Splash

It's been very hot around here lately, so my friends got together at Jamie's house so that the kids could swim and do the slip and slide! They had so much fun, and it was great to hang out with everyone.

So cute, love these girlies!! Everyone strike a pose!.

Aren't they so handsome?!

 Just the moms!

Kiera loved the slip and slide!

h.e.l.p.

Lately I've been feeling overwhelmed with housework, I don't know why but I almost feel like it's easier to do when I'm in school and have a million things going on. Maybe it's the routine. But I decided to make let my kids help me out a bit. So I made some chore charts to help motivate.

Very simple, every day the clothespins start on the right and as they check off the chores they move over to the left. They're really excited about it, let's just hope that lasts for a while.
